CENTENNIAL CAMPAIGN UPDATE

Onward and Upward

Junko Tabei was the first woman to reach the summit of Mount  Everest. The legendary Japanese mountain climber didn’t stop there, however. She went on to ascend the rest of the Seven Summits — the highest peaks on every continent.

Maybe we can learn a thing or two from her.

Thanks to your generosity, our Power of Every One Centennial Campaign has passed $2 billion.  But we’re not about to stop, either. When it comes to building on this nonprofit health system’s remarkable legacy of world-class care, research and education, the work continues. So must our support. We hope you’ll consider increasing your commitment to our mission as we celebrate Cleveland Clinic’s centennial throughout the coming year.

Shortly before Tabei died in 2016 at the age of 77, she was asked what compelled her to keep climbing. “I love to go wherever I’ve never been before,” she said.

With your help, Cleveland Clinic also will continue to scale new heights and explore new horizons. As we count down 100 days until our centennial festivities commence with Founders Day on February 26, the view rivals that from any mountaintop. With pride, we look back on a century of healthcare advances and innovations. And with renewed purpose, we look ahead to a panorama of possibilities, made possible by philanthropy, that will save lives and change lives.

For all that you do … thank you.
