Taussig Cancer Institute opens, named in honor of the late Daniel Taussig, a businessman and philanthropist whose family, in partnership with Sam and Maria Miller and other donors, contributed substantially to the funds needed to erect the building.

Cleveland Clinic Florida opens a fully integrated academic medical campus in Weston.

The Lerner College of Medicine is established with a $100 million gift from Al and Norma Lerner to train a new generation of clinician investigators.

Delos “Toby” Cosgrove, MD, is appointed CEO and President. He serves until 2017.

Cleveland Clinic launches the Today’s Innovations, Tomorrow’s Healthcare campaign, led by Chairman Bob Rich (pictured). It raises $1.5 billion to support research, education and ambitious construction projects on Cleveland Clinic’s main campus.
