One of the original operating rooms on the seventh floor of Cleveland Clinic Hospital had a modest observation gallery. Large windows and skylights let in ample natural light to help surgeons see what they were doing. The bustling top floor of the hospital also included anatomical and clinical pathology laboratories and living quarters for residents.
