The Work Goes On

We are deeply grateful for your philanthropy.

As you have seen in this report, the impact of your generosity is felt across every part of our mission, from caring for life to researching for health to educating those who serve. Cleveland Clinic’s centennial celebration ended on a high note with the culmination of this extraordinary campaign. It propelled us into our second century with a burst of forward momentum, ready to rise to new challenges:

• We are leading the way in neuroscience. In an unprecedented effort to find cures for neurodegenerative diseases, we recently launched the Cleveland Clinic Brain Study. And we are building a new home for the Neurological Institute on our main campus that will be the first-ever fully integrated neurological hospital.

• Cleveland Clinic has teamed up with the State of Ohio and other partners to establish the Cleveland Innovation District. It will double our research space, with special emphasis on pressing needs such as combatting emerging pathogens and preventing future pandemics. Here you also will find the Discovery Accelerator, an exciting collaboration with IBM that will harness big data and artificial intelligence to fast-track breakthroughs.

• Our communities need us now more than ever. We are addressing harmful lead exposure in homes, disparities in prenatal care and access to healthy food, among other concerns. Cleveland Clinic heals, hires and invests locally.

• We seek to double the number of patients in our care, through growth in the communities that we serve. People suffer when they cannot obtain high-quality healthcare. Cleveland Clinic has an ethical imperative to touch as many lives as possible.

The work goes on, with bold new ambitions requiring bold new investments. Without you, we never could have come this far. The Power of Every One Centennial Campaign demonstrated what we can accomplish together. And with your continued support, I have no doubt that the future of healthcare at Cleveland Clinic is brighter than ever.
