A LETTER FROM LARA

Seeing Them

Daughters came with mothers. Granddaughters came with grandmothers. Women of all ages showed up together, not just for information, but for each other.

That’s what I saw at Cleveland Clinic’s first Women’s Health Forum in June 2025. And that same spirit — women supporting women across generations — is front and center for all to see in this special issue of Cleveland Clinic Magazine.

Inside these pages, you’ll meet the clinicians, researchers and innovators behind the Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center (WCHRC), designed to see women fully across every stage of life. You’ll hear from leaders like Maria Shriver and Beri Ridgeway, MD, about why this work matters so urgently. And you’ll discover what’s possible when (finally!) we put women at the center of their own care.

Every seat at the forum was taken. The overwhelming response told us something important: Women are hungry for this conversation. They showed up to lean in, to be heard and to celebrate. There was a DJ. There was dancing. There was joy.

When the forum returns on May 7, 2026, at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, we’ll have more space, more voices and more opportunities to connect. This is about so much more than treating illnesses. It’s about honoring the full complexity of women’s lives.

In this season of gratitude, I hope you’ll take a moment to think about the women who matter most in your life. Your mother. Your sister. Your daughter. Your friend. Your partner. Yourself.

Are these women taking care of their health as fiercely as they take care of everyone else? If not, let this magazine be a reminder to them: Your health matters. Your voice matters. You matter.

And when you’re ready to act — whether that’s making an appointment, asking a question or simply having a conversation — know that the WCHRC is here, ready to help.

Because every woman deserves to be seen.
