Outside Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital in Florida stands Man Helping Man, a bronze artwork cast from the original on Cleveland Clinic’s main campus. Created by renowned sculptor William McVey (1905–1995), the piece honors the healing relationship between patient and caregiver. The original was commissioned in memory of Henry Sherman, former president of Cleveland Clinic and chair of the board of trustees in the 1940s. All these years later, the sculpture sends a powerful message that has stood the test of time — this is what medicine, at its best, looks like.
