Andrew Novick, MD (right), the Chairman of Cleveland Clinic’s Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute, was a world-renowned urologist. Dr. Novick discovered that a leading cause of kidney failure in older patients was atherosclerotic renal artery disease, a condition that he treated. He also pioneered the partial nephrectomy to prevent kidney failure and refined techniques for removing the kidney from the body for surgical repair before reimplanting it.
