In private infusion rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and throughout the Taussig Cancer Center, natural light is part of the healing process. The facility, which opened in 2017, exudes empathy. At the main entryway, a massive canopy provides a shield from the elements. A high-volume lab minimizes the wait for blood testing on the first level, which also includes an outpatient pharmacy and other amenities. Upper floors are organized by cancer type, with appointments consolidated in a single area. Taussig Cancer Institute Chairman Brian Bolwell, MD, FACP, says it all adds up to “a seamless personalized experience” for patients.
